Bryan Embry is the owner of Dallas Arts District’s first art gallery in over three decades. Born and raised in Dallas, Bryan Embry attended high school at Trinity Christian Academy which served as an exceptional introduction into fine art. Bryan studied under very accomplished artists and teachers, Chung Chu and Jonathan Millet, who upon Bryan’s graduation encouraged him to pursue his passion at Pratt Art Institute. Like many young artists, he made a decision to shelf his passion and follow a more traditional path. He went on to receive a degree in Information Technology Management from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, during which time he worked for Fed-Ex. He eventually moved back to Dallas and began a career in finance with Merrill Lynch. At the time he did not foresee it, but his financial path would lead him back to his passion through a man by the name of Paul Adelson of Select Art Gallery. Two short meetings with Paul re-ignited Bryan’s life long passion for art and within three weeks after their second meeting Bryan had formed a new company specializing in artist representation and sales. The young company evolved and progressed to include coordinating, promoting, and hosting several “gorilla shows” with the Dallas Independent Arts Community. Bryan was not only back to his Dallas roots, but also back to pursuing his passion of art. The friends and partnerships formed during these shows would lead Bryan to an opportunity for collaboration with the Fairmont Hotel on a new gallery space. From this union, The Ross Akard Gallery in The Fairmont Hotel broke ground December 1st, 2009. Both the gallery and Bryan harbor a strong affiliation to community through the support of local artists and charitable organizations including Big Thought and DCAC.
