ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Rolando Diaz:
Dallas based Cuban /American artist believes art is the expression of life. Everything we see, feel, touch, smell and hear, in one way or another, become part of the images expressed on the canvas. It is this thought that becomes the basis for the work of this Fine Artist.

Born in Havana, Cuba , to a Cuban immigrant businessman who fled an oppressive Communist regime, Diaz learned early that there are those who will go through life with little or nothing they can call their own. Touched by this thought, the artist has traveled to many countries to personally experience what poverty truly is. In so doing, it has touched the heartstrings and been able to raise many funds for those in need.

Diaz has been able to exhibit nationally and internationally, and has collectors in both. Some who enjoy Diaz's work include, Liza Minnelli, Rob Thomas, BJ and Gloria Thomas, Courtney Rainwater and many others. With a PBS special that aired this past year in the US, Canada and Russia, Diaz received additional international attention. The artist has also been able to paint live with great musicians such as Seth Simmons, Jewel, Manhattan Transfer, George Winston, David Moneit and BJ Thomas to name a few. Last year Diaz also performed live for a special event for President Bush. Diaz believes his gifts are from God, and continues to use them to bring excitement to the eyes of the viewer, and relate messages sometimes hidden about life.

Hobbes Vincent:
Born in a small town in Central Mexico called Aguascalientes, to missionary parents, Hobbes Vincent has lead a self-inspired artist's life since the beginning. Hobbes was recruited to move to Dallas for an internship with Reel FX Creative studios, a national animation studio. The Reel FX principal who discovered Hobbes working in a health club in East Texas was simply blown away by his natural sculpting abilities. Brad Oldham Studios, Inc. was able to lure Hobbes away from his 3D modeling job at Reel FX to work as chief sculptor for the studio. Hobbes left Oldham Inc. to pursue his own career, and founded Vincent Studio, where he works today
